Weight Tracker, by Scanly Studio · Last updated 29 August 2026

The short version. Everything you enter into Weight Tracker (your weight entries, your goal, your BMI figures, any progress photo you attach) is stored on your phone and is never sent to us. There is no account and no login. The app does not read from or write to Apple Health. It contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDK. The only time data leaves your device is when you buy a subscription, which is handled by Apple and by our payments provider, RevenueCat.

Who we are

Weight Tracker is published by Scanly Studio. If you have a question about anything on this page, write to scanlystudio.support@proton.me and a person will answer.

Health data, stored on your device only

Body weight is health data, and we treat it that way. The app keeps everything you enter in local storage on the phone itself, protected by iOS data protection. That includes:

None of this is transmitted to us or to anyone else. We cannot read it. There is no account and no sync: your history exists on this one phone, and it is removed when you delete the app. We never use it for advertising, and we have no way to.

Apple Health

This version of the app does not integrate with Apple Health (HealthKit). It does not ask for Health permission, does not read weight or any other measurement from the Health app, and does not write anything to it. If a later version adds an optional Health connection, it will ask for that permission on the specific tap that needs it, explain exactly what it reads, and this page will be updated first.

Optional permissions

The app works fully without either of the following. Each is requested only when you use the feature that needs it, and each can be withdrawn at any time in iOS Settings.

Notifications

If you turn on the daily reminder, iOS asks your permission to show notifications. The reminder is scheduled and delivered by your own phone as a local notification. No push token is collected and nothing passes through a server of ours, because we do not have one.

Camera and photos

If you attach a progress photo to an entry, iOS asks for camera or photo library access at that moment. The photo you pick or take is saved with the entry on your device. The app does not scan your library, does not upload photos anywhere, and does not read location or other metadata from them.

Data handled by third-party services

One service is involved, and only in connection with a purchase.

RevenueCat (subscriptions and one-time purchases)

When you start a free trial, buy a subscription, buy the lifetime option, or tap “Restore”, the purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to check whether a purchase is valid and still active. For that, RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier generated for your installation, the App Store transaction details for what you bought, and basic device and country information supplied by the store. It does not receive your name, your email address, your weight, or anything else listed above. RevenueCat acts as our processor. Their own privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Apple additionally provides RevenueCat with an Apple Ads attribution token where one exists, which tells us only whether an install came from an Apple Search Ads campaign. It is not linked to your identity, it is never combined with your health data, and no advertising SDK is present in the app.

What the app does not do

Children

Weight Tracker is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Data retention

Because your entries never leave your phone, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Deleting the app removes them. Purchase records held by RevenueCat and by Apple are retained under their own policies and for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete personal information held about you, and to object to certain processing. In practice we hold almost nothing: your weight history is on your device only, and the purchase record is keyed to an anonymous identifier. If you want to exercise a right, or want the purchase record associated with your installation deleted, write to scanlystudio.support@proton.me and we will act on it. To manage or cancel a subscription itself, use Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be flagged in the app.
